Workshop Description

1 day workshop With Elaine Imoto Ages 18+ Must know how to sew a running stitch Learn to make traditional Japanese chirimen balls (little spheres covered in Japanese silk). Afterwards they will be sewn tightly onto silk thread to mimic cherry blossoms on a branch. Teacher will provide silk rounds in neutral colors. Students will need to bring: sewing needle, black thread, and small, pointy scissors. Optional: silk/rayon fabric scraps from your personal fabric stash. Required: must know how to do a running stitch Some materials provided.
